Annually, nearly 2,000 exceptional youth from across the globe are awarded the prestigious U.S. Department of State-sponsored scholarship. This unique platform allows them to live with host families and experience attending an American high school. They participate in renowned programs such as the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX), Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX), and Youth Exchange and Study (YES).
Through their involvement with host schools, these chosen future leaders aid in constructing diplomatic bridges between their nations and the United States. By immersing in American life, they leave enduring, positive impressions of the United States on their minds.
High schools that enroll U.S. Department of State-sponsored exchange students earn the title of Medallion Member Schools. This distinction sets these schools apart and attests to their commitment to academic and cultural enrichment through international exchange. These member schools can proudly pair the official medallion with their names and promote it across banners, newsletters, websites, clothing designs, and other media.
