Frequently Asked Questions

Germany For You is a full-ride scholarship program designed for vocational track high school students. It mirrors the USA4U program for German students and was developed in partnership with the German and United States governments. Both programs aim to strengthen the bonds between the two countries and provide students who may not otherwise have the chance to experience this type of cultural exchange.

If selected for the two-week Germany For You cultural exchange program, students can expect an immersive experience that includes both educational and cultural enrichment. Participants will engage in tours of key historical and cultural sites, attend workshops designed to enhance their understanding of German society, and connect with German students and families. The program focuses on exploring German history, traditions, and modern-day life, providing students with a deep cultural exchange. Through homestays with local host families, students will gain firsthand insights into daily German life while building lasting international friendships.

The Pre-Departure Orientation is mandatory for Germany For You scholarship recipients. During this orientation, scholarship winners receive essential information and guidance to prepare for their exchange program. It is a crucial part of the scholarship experience.

Upon returning home, Germany For You scholarship winners are expected to complete at least one presentation in their school or community to share their experiences, teach others about the culture in Germany, and encourage other students to participate in foreign exchange. This helps promote cultural exchange awareness.
