Step 1: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
After an application is submitted, a representative from YFU USA will contact you to answer any questions you might have, review your application and to schedule an interview.
Step 2: GET SOME TRAINING
YFU USA is a volunteer-driven student exchange program. We will work with you to match your interests and availability with our many volunteer positions. On-line training is provided by YFU to get you started in your new role. We also have opportunities for in-person training and telephone training to assist you in developing skills and performing tasks for YFU.
Step 3: CONTRIBUTE YOUR SKILLS
As a volunteer for YFU USA, opportunities exist to recruit, orient, and support, students, families, schools, and even other volunteers. There are also opportunities to present information about exchange or assist with administrative functions. Interviewing, arranging social events, writing student profiles, or helping to decide scholarship winners from our student applications are also important tasks for which YFU seeks volunteers.. Volunteers problem-solve with international students, place students, perform recruiting, contact students on a monthly basis and may have an opportunity to coordinate other volunteers. All of these activities are designed to support students, families, and schools.
