Most YFU students hosted in the US are covered by the Aetna & Generali plans described here.

 

The YFU students hosted in the US, as noted below, are enrolled in different plans:

  •   Congress-Bundestag (CB)

  •   Youth Exchange and Study (YES)

  •   YFU partner country students from: Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden

If a student's ID card has not arrived in the mail yet, students may call Aetna with their name and date of birth to confirm coverage and make inquiries.

  • Pre-authorization for medical care is not required. Aetna will indicate providers who bill Aetna directly.
  • If an in-network provider is not available, students may seek care outside the network; however, Aetna pays only the reasonable and customary charges. Students and their natural parents are responsible for any amount above that.
  • Students may be required by the medical provider to pay the medical bill in full and file a claim for reimbursement through Aetna.

ASPE Plan for

Congress-Bundestag (CB) &

Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Students 

YFU German CB and YFU YES students are enrolled in the ASPE plan provided by the US Department of State.  The plan is administered by Seven Corners.  CB students receive ID cards and plan materials from YFU Germany prior to departure for the USA.  YES students receive ID cards and plan materials in a mailing from YFU USA, shortly after arrival.
