No matter what career they choose, today's high school students will need a global education. Educators find that international exchange is essential for students to compete in an increasingly multicultural, interconnected, and fast changing global society. Global exchange experience will dramatically improve your students’ success in multiple fields including social studies, healthcare, business, law, engineering, and foreign languages.
The Youth For Understanding (YFU) exchange program offers young people the learning adventure of a lifetime—the opportunity to explore another country and culture, to master a new language, and to discover themselves. Through YFU, young people acquire a passion for life-long learning, as well as the skills and knowledge to thrive and contribute to cultural diversity.
In addition to the academic work at school, students gain a deeper insight into the culture of their host country; however, the benefits of the YFU program go well beyond the specific culture, history, geography and language of the host country. By acquiring another perspective, YFU students learn to be more open and receptive to different approaches, assumptions, values, and methods - the same attitudes and skills essential to thrive in a fast changing, multicultural environment.
CSIET:
To receive a printed copy of the CSIET 2012-2013 Advisory List schools must join CSIET's Online School Community. Starting 2011 a hard copy of the Advisory List booklet will only to mailed schools with have joined the CSIET Online School Community. Membership in the on-line community is free, and grants the school member one free copy of the Advisory List annually.
